Burnham-On-Sea jet skier could still win British title on final weekend

-

Burnham-On-Sea jet skier Nick Edrich narrowly missed out on winning the British title this week when he competed in the penultimate round of action.

Riding his Hydrospace S4 at Grendon lakes in Northants, Nick could have lifted the British title but will instead have to fight it out in the final round of racing on 3-4th September.

He did well in both this week’s two races and led all the way till the last lap but on both occasions he hit rough water and was thrown from his ski.

He managed to get back to fourth place overall, which gave him first place in his class in the first race.

And in the second race he was doing well until he was passed by the whole field after a fall. He climbed back up three places and finished eighth overall, fourth in his class.

Nick said: “Racing is all about winning for me – that’s why I take part. I could never back off and take second best, you win some you lose some. I can’t wait until the final round – it’s going to be a great finale to the season. I just hope I can bring the British title home.”

Nick thanked his friends and family who made the trip to Northants to support him and his sponsors Bhbsport, AK Autos, Fusion Leisure and The Cladding Centre.
