Time is running out to nominate the best police on the beat

-

Time is running out for residents in the Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge area to nominate their best on the beat in this year’s Community Policing Awards.

Nominations for the awards, which recognise the outstanding work of Neighbourhood Policing Teams and individuals, close on Monday November 21st.

Funded entirely by sponsorship from local and national businesses, it is the only awards ceremony within the force which asks the public to put people forward.

So now is the time to think of an officer or member of staff who you feel has delivered an excellent service and improved the quality of life for the community.

The award categories are Neighbourhood Beat Manager of the Year, PCSO of the Year, Special Constable of the Year, Neighbourhood Beat Team of the Year and Outstanding Customer Service Award.

Assistant Chief Constable John Long said: “These awards are about recognising the real difference that members of our neighbourhood teams are making to our communities on a daily basis.”

“The response from the public so far has been excellent but there is still time to vote for an individual or a team who you think deserves recognition.”

Nomination forms are available at police stations or readers can nominate online at www.communitypolicingawards.org.uk.

After the closing date an independent panel will select winners for each of the six policing districts. An awards ceremony will be held in March 2012 to announce the overall force winner for each category.
