Highbridge school warns parents over suspected Swine Flu case

Parents of pupils at a Highbridge school have this week been warned to keep a close eye on their children after a youngster showed signs of suspected Swine Flu.

Churchfield Primary School's headteacher Wendy Nelder wrote to all parents on Friday (January 21st), telling them of the "suspected case" of Swine Flu.

In the letter, she states: "We thought we should inform you that we have a suspected case of Swine Flu in school."

"The vast majority of Swine Flu cases in the UK have been mild and self-limiting. Please keep an eye on your child."

Anyone who is concerned about flu-like symptoms should phone their GP or NHS Direct on 0845 4647 for further advice.

In 2009, there were several suspected cases of Swine Flu in the Burnham area - including at St John's School, King Alfred School and at Berrow School.
