Water pressure could be hit again in Burnham-On-Sea this week

-

Bristol Water says specialist teams from its water mains flushing programme will be working at night in the Burnham and Highbridge area each night this week through to Friday morning (June 17th).

The firm says the “routine work” to clean and clear the mains has nothing to do with the problems caused by a burst water main in Burnham last weekend, which led to disruption.

It addsd that the flushing is part of preparatory work to install a new valve on Burnham’s water network to protect customers’ supplies during main diversionary work for a new development.

“There is a chance that while the flushing is in progress some customers may have reduced water pressure, but this should not last more than a few minutes. We do not expect anybody to lose supplies,” Bristol Water spokesman Jeremy Williams told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The crew will be working from 11pm and will finish at about 6am each day. The work will start with the flushing of Highbridge Road and will then continue in Burnham Road, Highbridge. The essential work has been planned for many months.”
