Huntspill man faces Anne Robinson on BBC’s Weakest Link!

-

A man who lives near Burnham-On-Sea narrowly missed out on winning £950 when he appeared on BBC1’s Weakest Link this week, but he didn’t manage to avoid an attack from host Anne Robinson!

Mark Vicary, who is a police officer, appeared on Thursday’s episode of the quick-fire general knowledge quiz.

He survived the early rounds of the show and reached the final showdown with one other contestant called Marie.

But when that round was tied, Mark faced a nail-biting ‘sudden death’ question to win the prize of £950.

He faltered at the final question when Anne Robinson asked him to name the national park situated at the southern end of the Pennine Hills. He answered the Lake District, but the correct answer was the Peak District.

Mark said afterwards: “I’m not too angry about getting in the final and not winning the money. Marie was the strongest link throughout and deserved to win.”

During the show, he got a maths question wrong and faced Anne Robinson’s customary humiliation! (see video clip below)
