15-mile bike ride boosts Highbridge
and Burnham Youth Project

Two boys from Highbridge and Burnham-On-Sea have cycled a 15-mile circuit, visiting 15 churches along their way, to raise over £200 for a local youth project.

James Biddiscombe and Thomas Fincham peddled their way around the route in wet weather to help raise money for the project, which is being overseen by Churches Together Group and South West Youth Ministries (SWYM).

The 'Highbridge and Burnham Youth Project' will fund two trainee youth workers to support youth work locally.

James and Thomas told Burnham-On-Sea.com they were very pleased to have raised £210 from the bike ride and with more sponsor forms from some churches yet to be returned the total could amount to more.

The Bishop of Taunton welcomed Thomas and James at West Huntspill Church on the final leg of their trip and also contributed by sponsoring the boys.

Anyone interested in making a donation or being involved with the project can do so by contacting the project team on 07712013314 or by email here.
