Entry
period begins for Burnham-On-Sea 'Battle Of The Bands' contest
Entries
are being welcomed for Burnham-On-Sea's first ever 'battle of
the bands', to be held in the town next month.
The
organisers of Burnham's Folkfest have launched the 'Acoustic Battle
of the Bands' competition, which will be held on Friday June 8th
from 7-11pm at The Princess Theatre and Arts Centre.
Ten
solo artists, duos or groups will each perform three songs live,
only one of which can be a cover, and the winners will
be awarded slots on the Saturday and Sunday of FolkFest 2012 plus
a day's recording time at the acclaimed Beehive Studios in Middlezoy.
FolkFest
Chairman Dom Wills told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The battle is
open to all ages. We're trying to promote live performance and
original songwriting in the area. It should be a cracking night's
entertainment too."
Entry
forms are available online here
and should be accompanied with a cheque for £5 plus examples
of your songs and music, either on CD, MP3 or online.
Tickets
for audience members are also available, priced at £2, from
the Princess Box Office on 01278 784464.
