Updated: Two injured in late night crash in Burnham-On-Sea

Two people were taken to hospital following an accident in Burnham-On-Sea late last night (Thursday).

Berrow Road was closed, as pictured here, after the driver of a blue Mercedes lost control of the car, which collided into a wall.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene near the town's lighthouse at 11.48pm.

Police diverted motorists along alternative roads while Berrow Road was closed to allow an investigation to begin.

A fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Crews confirmed one single vehicle had been in collision with a wall. No persons were trapped, but there were four walking wounded casualties. Crews assisted paramedics with the casualties and made the vehicle safe."
