Excited
pupils and staff move into new £4.6m school in Highbridge

A
new £4.6m school in Highbridge was opened to pupils for
the first time this week as they started the new school year.
The
new 420-pupil Churchfield Primary School in Highbridge has opened
after a year-long construction project.
Wendy
Nelder, Head Teacher, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Watching
the children come to school on the first morning was an absolute
pleasure - the air was full of excitement!"
"We
are all thrilled to be in such a fantastic building with wonderful
facilities. We feel very privileged to be the first occupants
of this state-of-the-art building and know that it will greatly
benefit the children and community in which we serve."
"When asked, the children said the building was awesome and
cool! We have even more to look forward to as our grounds will
be transformed into a wonderful outdoor space for the children
to play and learn. We all wish to say a huge thank you to Somerset
County Council and the building company Vinci for providing us
with such a lovely school."
