In photos: Ceremony held to unveil Highbridge's new town clock
brand new £20,000 town clock has been officially unveiled
by the town's Mayor as part of this weekend's Jubilee celebrations.

a large crowd of residents who watched Saturday's ceremony were
some of the local people who donated funds plus members of Highbridge
Dreamscheme and a band from Burnham and Highbridge's twin town
of Le Ferre, who played in the gardens.
new clock has been introduced to replace the three-faced structure,
which was showing its age and was started to crumble and corrode.
and pledges amounting to £16,700 were received from around
30 residents and businesses, including one single donation of
£5,000 and £8,000 from Raglan Housing Association.
Ken Smout told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "It's great to see this
new clock officially unveiled after a great deal of work behind
new clock shows the strength of community we have here in Highbridge
- and I thank all who have supported the fundraising."
Mike Mansfield, who collected much of the funds, was especially
thanked for his efforts. Those
who have given donations will be acknowledged on a plaque to be
sited at Highbridge Community Hall.
