New
clothes shop opens in Burnham in place of former shoe store
A
new shop has opened in Burnham-On-Sea this week, filling a prime
High Street location that has been vacant for over nine months.
Weston
businessman Asif Ghani has taken over the former Shickle Shoes
shop to open a new fashion store called Aniqa.
Mr
Ghani, pictured, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We already have
a very successful store in the centre of Weston and wanted to
expand, so coming to Burnham seemed a logical step."
"We
have had a good response so far and hope that our range of jewellery,
clothes and fashion accessories adds some more choice to the High
Street."
A
spokesman for Burnham-On-Sea Chamber of Trade this week welcomed
the news that a vacant store has been occupied, adding that there
are now very few empty premises in the town centre.
Shickle
Shoes closed last November, as reported here,
after operating in Burnham High Street since 1966. The estate
agents had been trying to find a new leaseholder ever since.
