Man arrested after £500k of drugs are seized in police raid

-

Burnham-On-Sea police have been involved in a major drugs raid in which more than half a million pounds of cannabis plants have been seized.

The raid in Burtle was executed early on Friday morning (January 6th) after police received intelligence from a police helicopter using its thermal imaging camera.

A search warrant was executed by police officers, who found the property had been set up as a large cannabis cultivation factory.

More than 500 cannabis plants were seized with a value in excess of half a million pounds. Officers found a man of Vietnamese origin inside, who was arrested and charged.

One room was set up as a nursery for the plants while on the first floor the bedrooms were set up as growing rooms.

The house was rented out in mid November last year and anyone with information should contact the police via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
