Burnham-On-Sea's Mayor plants tree at school's Jubilee celebrations

Burnham-On-Sea's
Mayor joined in Jubilee celebrations at a school in the town on
Tuesday (May 29th) when he planted a special tree.
Cllr
Ken Smout visited St Andrew's School with the Town Council's Jubilee
Committee Chairman, Cllr Neville Jones, to celebrate the Queens
Diamond Jubilee.
The
Mayor planted a weeping cherry tree and presented commemorative
Jubilee mugs to all the school's pupils at an assembly attended
by the whole school and staff. He
also judged the school's Jubilee crown-making competition.
Gavin
Morris, Headteacher of St Andrew's, said everyone was thrilled
by his visit, adding: "It was an honour and a privilege to
welcome the Mayor and Councillor Jones to our school. Their visit
has provided everyone with a lasting memory of this special occasion."
