Ticket prices slashed for tonight's Sky TV speedway fixture

Sky
TV will be broadcasting live coverage of a speedway fixture from
the Oaktree Arena on the outskirts of Burnham-On-Sea tonight (Tuesday,
may 22nd).
Somerset Rebels' first home league meeting of the season against
Ipswich will be beamed live into millions of homes across the
UK on Sky Sports.
The
match will be the fourth successive year that the track has featured
in a live Sky Sports broadcast and, as Somerset Rebels promoter
Debbie Hancock (pictured right) explains, it reflects well not
just on the club, but also on the Burnham-On-Sea area.
"We
are extremely honoured to be featured live on Sky Sports once
again. The
team at Sky love coming here and, as a consequence, they are always
most complementary about the region around the track as a whole,
which can only be good in promoting Burnham and the like to a
wider audience."
To
encourage new spectators, admission prices for the night will
be reduced to £10 for adults and concessions, while children
will be admitted for just £1.
"We
would really love to see the Oaktree Arena packed out with fans
for the cameras, hence the decision to reduce our prices for this
special occasion in order to show the arena at its best,"
Debbie told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
"I
would urge not just all Somerset fans to come along and take advantage
of this special offer, but to anyone living in the area who may
not have been to watch the action before to sample speedway at
first hand for themselves!"
"Both
Somerset and Ipswich have been tipped by the Speedway Star pundits
to be the top two teams in the Premier League this year, so it
has all the makings of a highly exciting meeting."
She
added: "In reducing our prices we acknowledge the fact that
our loyal season ticket holders 'lose out'. Whilst I know that
they will appreciate that the club needs to do everything possible
in order to promote the meeting and perhaps attract new fans to
the Rebels camp, by way of a recompense all season ticket holders
will receive a free programme on the night rather than paying
the normal cover price."
Gates
will open at 5.30pm and the live TV action begins at 7.30pm. For
more details, call 01278 782216 or turn up on the night to buy
