Burnham
Sailing Club launches clear-up and repairs after storms

Strong
winds and high tides left Burnham-On-Sea Sailing Club with a big
clear-up operation and repairs this week.
The
stormy conditions damaged the club's pontoons in the River Brue
and led to a large amount of debris being washed up, as pictured.
"The
wooden structure of the pontoons suffered some damage from the
force of the waves on Tuesday morning," a club spokesman
told Burnham-On-Sea.com. "Fortunately, we've managed to put
a temporary repair in place to keep it operational."
The
Environment Agency closed the town's seafront flood gates at the
jetty, Sailing Club and Maddock's Slade to prevent any flooding
along The Esplanade.
