Travellers who set up camp on Berrow Village Green move away

A group of travellers who set up camp on Berrow Village Green over the weekend have left the area last night (Monday).

Six vehicles arrived on the green on Saturday, as pictured, setting up an unauthorised camp, much to the concern of nearby residents and the Parish Council.

Council Chairman Barry Kew, right, held discussions with Burnham Police and also spoke directly with the travellers to encourage them to move.

He told Burnham-On-Sea.com this evening: "It's good news they've moved on, saving the council the considerable expense of possible legal action."
