Burnham-On-Sea councillor’s anger as vandals cause damage

-

A town councillor in Burnham-On-Sea is counting the cost of vandalism this week after a wall outside his home was damaged.

Cllr Paul Young, right, who represents Burnham Central and Burnham South, is fuming after vandals targeted his Highbridge Road property.

“A large concrete thistle on the wall was dislodged, causing damage to the brickwork and the rendering, leaving me with a repair bill of several hundred pounds,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The thistle weighs around 80 kilos and couldn’t be blown off or have fallen off – it was done deliberately. It’s just mindless damage to property. If anyone knows who is responsible I would urge them to get in contact with the police.”

Anyone who saw or has information about the incident, which occurred last Saturday, should contact Burnham Police via the non-emergency police number of 101.
