The centre of Burnham-On-Sea briefly came to a silent halt on Saturday (June 29th) when residents marked Armed Forces Day.
A flag-raising ceremony, organised by the Royal British Legion, and one miniute’s silence in memory of those who serve in the country’s armed forces, was held besides Burnham’s Pier Street fountain, as pictured here.
Town councillors, residents and representatives from local groups – including Burnham Chamber of Trade and the Town Team – attended the ceremony.
Organiser Brian Mudge told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was wonderful to see good support in Burnham, demonstrating the local backing for our Armed Forces.”
