Over 20 residents were presented with awards when the town’s annual Burnham In Bloom prize ceremony was held on Friday night (November 22nd).
Scores of residents and business owners gathered in the Town Council Chambers for the annual presentation night.
Awards were given to those who helped brighten up the town with floral displays and artwork over the summer.
Mayor Martin Cox thanked those who had taken part and praised Burnham In Bloom organisers Dave Perrett and Richard Young for their involvement. The Mayor said: “The standard of entries on show across the town was superb this year and it’s great that this competition binds the community together.”
Dave added: “It’s been another brilliant year for entries – we were about 20 per cent up on entries – and the quality was great, thanks in part to the weather. The children’s art entries have also been superb this year so thanks go to everyone.”
Jo Jefferies, pictured with Richard Young, received the award for the best community garden on behalf of Burnham Dreamscheme for its garden at the BAY Centre.
