New state-of-the-art play equipment funded by grants totalling almost £7,000 was officially unveiled in Brent Knoll yesterday (Thursday).

Cllr Peter Downing, Chairman of Sedgemoor District Council, cut a ribbon to open the new equipment on the Village Green.

Funding was provided by Sedgemoor District Council via RLT3 development contributions amounting to £3,897 and a further £3,000 from Viridor Credits.

The new equipment is designed to develop children’s sense of balance and rhythm and is also suitable for the visually impaired.

“The new carousel equipment was chosen by Brent Knoll Primary School’s council after being asked what they would most like,” Peter told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The Finno Waltz, described as a whirlwind of fun, has been co-sponsored by Sedgemoor District Council and Viridor Credits Environmental Company, via the Landfill Communities Fund.”
