Renowned ‘hurdy-gurdy’ folk musician to perform in Burnham-On-Sea

A bona fide ‘hurdy-gurdy man’ will be performing at Burnham’s Ritz Acoustic Club this Thursday (August 15th).

Damian Clarke, an original member of renowned folk rock band Pressgang, delivers traditional music on hurdy-gurdy and hammer dulcimer and also sings unaccompanied.

“His aim is to take trad music out of the folk arena and inspire a far wider audience, especially youngsters,” Acoustic Club Chairman Rob Brown told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“In doing so, he has toured 12 countries, performed on TV, in theatres and at many festivals and street fairs.”

“Damian’s a brilliant musician and also great fun. It should be a tremendous evening.”

Doors open at 8pm and entry will cost £4 per person on the door.
