Pensioners at Burnham’s Frith House pay their respects to war dead

-

Elderly residents at Burnham-On-Sea’s Frith House – some of whom are war veterans – have taken part in their own special remembrance service.

Dozens of pensioners, staff and families took part in the service at the care home and members of local services.

Many met on the seafront before joining a short flag-led procession to the care home, as pictured.

Each year Frith House holds a service that includes hymns plus the playing of the Last Post and two minutes silence in memory of those who lost their lives in the two world wars.

Wreaths and crosses are laid in the garden area outside the centre and the service ends with the playing of National Anthem.
