Fundraising night to be held at the Oaktree speedway arena tonight

-

Somerset Rebels are to stage a fundraising night at the Oaktree Arena tonight (Saturday, February 9th) to help bring in cash towards the club’s air-fence fund.

The entertainment will be provided by local covers band Combyne Arvester, who play songs written and performed by many top artists in the style of Adge Cutler and the Wurzels.

Organiser Jordan Jones told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The reason for the event is to raise funds for the speedway’s Air Fence Fund where we are trying to raise over £30,000 to install an air fence.”

“Once we have this installed we will hopefully be considered for some of speedway’s larger events, such as the World Cup events and Grand Prix Qualifiers, which attract large crowds from all over Europe and would help the local economy as much as us here.”

Tickets for the event, which starts at 7pm, are priced at £5, which includes a basket meal. They are available by calling 01278 782216. During the evening, there will also be an raffle where a cap signed by Jenson Button will be offered.
