Big crowds expected at Burnham’s annual Picnic In The Park today

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Picnic in the Park returns to the Manor Gardens on Sunday, July 7th, with an afternoon of great entertainment in store.

The Fallen Apples will lead the free event from 12.30pm. The band’s combination of popular folk songs with fast-moving dance tunes featuring the mandolin have been a big hit with the crowd in previous years.

Their set will be followed by music from Combyne Arvester, right, who are well-known for their own unique brand of Somerset humour.

Popular musical trio The Cherries will also take to the stage. Setting the scene for the acts is the usual mix of ice cream, burgers and refreshments.

Children will be kept entertained with hair-braiding and face-painting. The Kidzone this year also features a slide and a ‘Have a go Hula Hoop’ demonstrator.

There will also be an artist’s tent manned by members of Highbridge and Burnham Artists (HaBa) which will give children an opportunity to produce their own art. The day’s activities and entertainment will end at 5pm.
