Pirate Fun Day to be held on Burnham-On-Sea beach today!

-

A free pirate-themed family fun day is to be held on Burnham-On-Sea beach this Saturday (July 27th).

The family event is to be held from 10.30am to 4pm on the town’s beach next to The Pavillion and at Marine Cove.

A number of events are being lined up, including a fancy dress competition with prizes for the best dressed pirates.

There will also be pirate-themed games, fun workshops for children on how to become a pirate, face painting, Mo the Bubble man, the Mudlarks community choir and more.

“If you are looking for a venue where your kids can run around, make noise and have the chance to win some prizes then come along,” organiser Ian Jefferies told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“As well as the bouncy pirate castle and face painting there will be lots of pirate games and activities to do on the beach, letting you put the lessons learnt at the morning’s pirate school to good use. Be aware that some may involve getting wet!”

The running order for the event will be: 10.30am Pirate School at Marine Cove, 11.30am Treasure Hunt in town, 12.45pm Winner of the treasure hunt will be chosen (Marine Cove), and then 1pm Pirate Fun on the Beach.

The event’s sponsors and supporters include BIARS, Burnham Dreamscheme, Friends of Marine Cove, Burnham Lions, The Sweet Shack, The Pavilion and Bessie’s Sweet Shoppe.
