£1,000 boost for Apex Play Day organisers just days before big event

-

The organisers of Highbridge’s Apex Park Play Day have received a £1,000 boost just days before this year’s event is held.

The team behind the popular Play Day, which takes place on Wednesday 7th August, have received two cheques of £500 each from Burnham Freemasons and Somerset Freemasons.

Rosie Pike, chairperson of the Sedgemoor Play Day Committee, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “These two donations are greatly appreciated. We are finding it is so hard to attract funding these days at a time when the costs of holding the Play Day increase further every year.”

More than 50 activities will be offered to children of all ages at the annual event in Apex Park, which often attracts thousands of youngsters with their families. It takes place this Wednesday from 10am-3pm. Read a full preview here.
