Brent Knoll’s annual Scarecrow Festival has been declared an overwhelming success by organisers, who praised villagers for the ingenuity of their entries.
The popular event – held over the weekend – saw dozens of scarecrows featuring well-known stars from the movie world installed alongside roads in the village.
And they proved more popular than ever, with hundreds of people visiting the village to take a look.
The winners were: 1st Place went to Wallace and Gromit (pictured right) by Christine Sandy, 2nd Place to Russell ‘scare’ Crowe, Gladiator by The Baker Family, and 3rd Place to Indiana Jones by The Talbot Family.
Highly Commended were Dracula by The Osborns, Mary Poppins by The Cavill Family, and William Wallace, Braveheart by The Sinnott Family. The People’s Choice awards went to Captain James T. Kirk and Crew, Star Trek by Team Rees, Wallace and Gromit by Christine Sandy, and Mr Gru and The Minions, Despicable Me by The Steer\Snellgrove Family. Trail Sheet winner: Belle Pring.
