Stolen Burnham flag mast is replaced thanks to business support

-

Burnham’s Sea Cadets have this week thanked two local businesses for helping them to fund the construction of a new mast to fly their ensign after their previous one was stolen.

The group this week proudly unveiled the new mast at the rear of their headquarters in Burnham’s Cassis Close.

Dave Gordon, the group’s commanding officer, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Sadly, the previous aluminium mast was stolen. This means we’ve been unable to hold formal parades outdoors by raising our ensign.”

“It’s therefore great that a local engineering firm, Harleys of East Brent, has come forward to donate a purpose-made mast for us while Sparrows helped us by providing a free crane for the evening to install the structure. We are very grateful for their support.”
