Burnham-On-Sea fishmonger celebrates at Somerset Food Awards

-

Staff at a Burnham-On-Sea fishmonger are celebrating this week after being named the runner-up in an annual competition to find Somerset’s best independent food shop.

Seafoods in Burnham High Street has scooped the runner-up award at the annual Somerset Food and Drink Awards.

Owners Steve and Gaynor Wright told Burnham-On-Sea.com they are delighted with the recognition.

Gaynor said: “We are really pleased to have been selected as one of the three finalists for this sought-after award. It is a great reward for all the hard work that our staff put into running Seafoods.”

“We are one of only a handful of independent fishmongers left in Somerset, so we really appreciate the support of our loyal customers in voting for us.”

The other runner-up in the ‘Best Food Shop of the Year Award’ category was Rumwell Farm Shop and the overall winner was Sienna Deli in Yeovil.

The awards competition, run by Somerset Life magazine, also saw Pumpkin Delicatessen of Wedmore become a runner-up in the ‘Best Tea room’ award.
