Burnham MP joins star apprentice at Adult Learners Week launch

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s MP has helped to launch Adult Learners’ Week in Parliament alongside a local star apprentice.

Tessa Munt attended a special reception in Parliament to help start the annual event where she met up with apprentice Emma Rogers, who opened her own beauty salon last year in Wedmore.

Emma has recently added the Apprentice of the Year Award to her many achievements.

Emma, by her own admission, talks about how she has overcome her struggle with dyslexia and a poor start at school to get where she is.

Tessa said: “I was thrilled to come and officially open Emma’s business, Beauty By Emma, and it has been even more exciting to see how much more Emma has achieved since then – she is beyond inspirational and is a shining example to other young people.”

Adult Learners’ Week, which runs from May 18-24th, recognises the achievements of outstanding individuals and innovative learning projects.

It is a national celebration of the benefits of lifelong learning and is a perfect opportunity to explore all opportunities available to adults from all walks of life.
