Vodafone mobile phone users in Burnham area hit by technical fault

-

Hundreds of mobile phone users in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge have been left fuming over the Christmas holidays due to an ongoing technical fault.

Vodafone users have been without phone reception for around two weeks when trying to use their handsets in the TA9 and TA8 areas.

“The Vodafone network has been down since a week before Xmas and Vodafone have provided no update on an ETA on fixing it or what the problem is,” one Burnham user, Sarah Buchanan, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Vodafone has confirmed there is a technical problem with its Highbridge phone mast and says it is working on resolving the issue.

“We’re trying to fix a network issue which might be affecting call coverage. There are some challenging circumstances – so it’s taking us longer than usual to get to the bottom of things,” says Vodafone.

A similar technical problem occurred in December 2012 when many users in the area again suffered reception issues.
