A Christmas tree festival has opened in Burnham-On-Sea this weekend, with over 20 sparkling trees on display for a fortnight.

St Andrew’s Church is holding the annual tree festival and life-size crib scene every day until Christmas Eve.

Local businesses, groups and organisations from Burnham and Highbridge have set-up the trees with decorations on the trees.

The Christmas trees have been decorated with unique items linked to the sponsoring company.

Among the trees is one decorated by the team at Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Organiser Richard Allen, pictured top, said: “The trees look wonderful – we have a superb selection this year thanks to many businesses and local groups which will be lit right up to Christmas Eve.”

The trees were illuminated for the first time on Saturday evening when a dedication service was held. They are now on show to the public from 10am-4pm each weekday until Christmas Eve.

The trees have been provided by Burnham Brownies, Lawnworx, Ritz Cinema, Burnham Funeral Services, Scott’s Furnishings, Burnham Food and Drink Festival, BARB Search & Rescue, St Andrew’s Church Choir, Burnham-On-Sea.com, Rotary Club, Baytree Upholstery, Home Hardware, Material Needs, Michael Lowe Gentlemen’s Barber, Children’s Hospice South West, St John Ambulance, St Andrew’s Primary School, Burnham Infants School, St Andrew’s Youth (SAY), Positive Wealth Creation and St Andrew’s Parish Church.

Entry is free, but charity donations are welcome. The church has also created a life-size crib scene with The Children’s Society.
