Project underway in Burnham-On-Sea to knit community blanket

-

A group of knitters and tapestry makers in Burnham-On-Sea has begun work on creating a colourful community blanket.

The Yarn Over group, which meets each Wednesday evening at The Princess Theatre, are creating the artwork, which will be hung on the wall of the arts lounge.

“The colourful blanket will feature a number of felted flowers and local scenes, and we intend to donate it to a local day hospital,” organiser Jessie Maddocks told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “It’s being created to bring people local together around a fun project.”

Yarn Over is a friendly, open group for anyone interested in knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving or tapestry.

Jessie added: “We are keen for new members to join us. You might learn something new, be able to pass on your experience or simply want to enjoy an evening with like-minded friends.”

The groups meets from 7-9pm each Wednesday. The only cost is for any rereshments you wish to buy.
