Hottest day of the year in Burnham as June heatwave continues

-

Burnham-On-Sea enjoyed its hottest day of the year so far on Saturday (June 14th) as the hot spell of weather continues.

Temperatures in Burnham reached a record for the year of 23.8°C (74°F) at 1.10pm.

The Met Office says the hot spell is set to continue during the next few days with similar temperatures possible.

The good weather led to busy scenes on the town’s beach and seafront, as pictured here.

Meanwhile, Burnham-On-Sea residents have also this week been asked to keep an eye out for elderly or frail people who may be struggling to cope in the heatwave.

Somerset County Council is asking neighbours to keep an eye out for anyone who may need help maintaining their health as the temperatures soar.
