Burnham school’s talented young photographers win competition

-

Young photographers at a Burnham-On-Sea school are celebrating after winning a keenly-contested competition.

The youngsters at St Joseph’s After School Photography Club, run by Natalie Harris, were recently invited to grab their cameras and take a number of shots of outside scenes.

The school asked for the help of Burnham-On-Sea Camera Club to judge the images.

The overall winner, Joseph Fitzpatrick, has received a professionally framed copy for his stunning tree photograph, pictured below.

Camera Club Chairman Mike Barnard and Club Secretary Jan Bonus presented the entrants with printed copies of their images and winners’ certificates.

Mike said: “These are talented youngsters with a fresh outlook on the world.”

“Talent like this needs encouragement, and the school will hopefully foster this talent and help it grow.”

Headteacher Simon Kingwell added: “Our pupils did very well, and a thank you goes to Burnham Camera Club for its support. We’re looking forward to the club’s annual photo exhibition in May.”
