Highbridge film director achieves top industry accolades
former Highbridge school student is making a name for himself
in the filmmaking industry after receiving two award nominations
and winning an industry accolade.
Dean, formerly of King Alfred School, has had a successful career
since completing his A-Levels at Bridgwater College, working with
renowned directors, including Oscar winner Phillipe Rousselot.
went on to study at the Manchester School of Art where he gained
a first class honours degree.
gaining an internship and then securing a full-time job at Gothenburg
Film Studios as a Production Assistant, Levi, with help from his
colleagues began to write and direct films.
of the films, 'Deception', was nominated as best film in the Pretzel
Film Director Competition in London.
this experience, Levi enrolled on a Masters Scriptwriting course
at Bournemouth University where he achieved a distinction. While
on the course, he wrote a script called 'Ciaran', working with
a director also on the course, which won the Best Thriller at
the Los Angeles Film Festival, held in Hollywood.
saoid: "Whilst at Bridgwater College, I achieved the grades
that I needed in order to enrol at my chosen university, The Manchester
School of Art. More importantly, having struggled as a teenager
and throughout my school years - as my self-esteem was low - this
taught me I could achieve anything I wanted in life."
am now living my dream through my job and in September will return
to education to study for a PGCE so I can teach the filmmakers
of the future."
