Walls demolished in lorry crash in Burnham-On-Sea

A lorry smashed into the walls of two properties in Burnham-On-Sea on Tuesday afternoon (May 27th), causing the damage pictured here.

Police and ambulance crews were called to Berrow Road shortly before 3pm after the vehicle lost control at the bend near Shelley Drive.

An eyewitness at the scene said the lorry knocked down a street light and demolished two walls.

An ambulance spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We sent a rapid response to the scene at 2.49pm. The driver had passed out at the wheel and crashed into the buildings. We gave him a check-over and he was discharged without requiring hospital treatment.”
