Thunderstorm in Burnham-On-Sea briefly leaves streets under water

A torrential thunderstorm briefly left roads in Burnham-On-Sea under water on Saturday evening (July 19th).

A heavy summer storm swept through the area at around 6.30pm, bringing lightning, thunder and heavy rain, leaving standing water as pictured here.

It follows a Met Office amber warning being issued for the region. However, the surface water will soon dry away on Sunday, which is forecast to be a day of warm sunshine.
