Teenager dies after early morning crash near Burnham-On-Sea

An 18 year-old man has died two days after being seriously injured in a crash near Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday (December 14th).

Cheddar man Zack Tame died of his injuries in hospital on Tuesday following the early morning collision in Wedmore, prompting an appeal from Police for witnesses to come forward.

We reported here how he’d suffered serious head injuries and been rushed to Southmead Hospital, where he later passed away.

A spokesman said: “A Ford Focus was being driven along Pilcorn Street, Wedmore, shortly before 5.30am when it left the carriageway and collided with a garden wall.”

“The 18 year-old male driver of the vehicle sustained life threatening injuries and was taken to Southmead Hospital. Sadly, he died as a result of his injuries on Tuesday.”

“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle before the incident took place to come forward.”
