Burnham-On-Sea fire crews extinguished a car blaze on a busy road on the outskirts of the town on Monday morning (November 16th).

Police and fire crews were called out just after 8.30am to the B3140 in Edithmead where the vehicle was alight.

“The fire service received a call reporting a vehicle on fire – one appliance from Burnham was mobilised and crews confirmed this was a small fire in the engine compartment,” said a spokesman. “They used a hose reel jet to extinguish it.”

Police coned off the vehicle before a recovery service took the vehicle away later in the day. No-one was hurt.
