for Burnham-On-Sea to become a 'cycle-friendly town' have been
discussed by town councillors this week in a bid to boost tourism
Centre Manager Bev Milner Simonds unveiled the proposals at a
council meeting, saying the scheme would attract more visitors
said: "I am exploring whether we can promote Burnham-On-Sea
as somewhere that is a good base for cycling holidays and also
improve the facilities for cyclists visiting the town."

proposals have been welcomed by Burnham Chamber of Trade, which
says shops and accommodation businesses are set to benefit. "Anything
which expands and grows the town's potential visitor numbers is
