300 cyclists heading to Burnham-On-Sea in coast-to-coast race

Burnham-On-Sea's seafront will be full of cyclists this Saturday (June 20th) when the annual Coast to Coast Cycle Ride finishes in the town.

Over 300 riders are signed up for the cross-country event that sees riders leaving the Isle of Sheppey in Kent at 4.30am and then racing to get to Burnham before sunset.

The cyclists are expected to start arriving at the jetty from 6.30pm onwards on Saturday.

Burnham-On-Sea Town Centre Manager Bev Milner Simonds told "The Town Council is proud to welcome the cycle ride back to Burnham."

"We know our local accommodation providers get booked up months in advance for this event."

"The arrival of the cyclists is going to look very special on the seafront and we hope that locals and visitors will come out to cheer them on."

Last year, we reported how 170 cyclists completed the coast-to-coast race from Sheerness to Burnham-On-Sea.
