Weather warnings prompt cancellation of Burnham farmers market

The Met Office's warnings of strong winds, snow and ice for Friday (January 30th) prompted the cancellation of the town's monthly farmers market.

A yellow warning for snow and ice was in force across the area, with forecasters saying there was a risk of bad weather.

The forecast led to Friday's High Street market being cancelled.

Louise Hall, Markets Co-ordinator, explained: "The weather forecast is for very high winds and it is therefore not safe for customers or traders to put up canopies in the High Street."
