Burnham-On-Sea pupils raise £1,000 for memorial bench
at a Burnham-On-Sea school have raised £1,000 towards a
memorial bench in memory of a youngster who passed away earlier
St Andrew's School pupils had hoped to raise £600 for the
bench in memory of 12 year-old Joe Laoutari who lost
his battle with cancer in March.
instead they raised an incredible £1,000 from donations
during a non-uniform day and a cake sale.
brother, Andreas, is a pupil at the school and his class (4F)
organised a cake sale.
brought in scores of cakes and they sold them all throughout the
school. Their efforts raised £240 of the total! The remaining
£760 came from the children and their families.
