New-look Highbridge Post Office and cafe opened by school pupils

Children from Highbridge's Churchfield School have officially opened their town's newly refurbished post office.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Monday where the youngsters were given the honour, as pictured here.

As reported last month by, the new owner is Scott Watts, 26, who has taken over the former Spar store in Church Street and has juust completed refitting the premises, giving it a new look inside and out.

The new-look premises not only offers a full post office but also operates as The Pillar Box cafe, offering a wide range of refreshments, including cakes and snacks, and hot drinks through the day.

"We've made it much brighter and welcoming and have completely changed what's inside, adding a childrens play centre at the back, the Post Office, a cafe and a convenience store," Scott told
