£30,000 Apex Park outdoor gym is officially opened by council

-

Apex Park’s outdoor gym has been formally officially opened this week at an event organised by Sedgemoor District Council.

The council teamed up with Sutcliffe Play to ‘officially’ open the equipment on Wednesday (August 23rd).

The state-of-the-art outdoor gym, which is open to all, has been funded from £30,000 of community funds from local housing developers as part of ‘RLT2’ and ‘RLT3’ developer contributions held by Sedgemoor District Council.

The gym includes a cross trainer, arm pull down, shoulder press, spinning bike, chest press, seated rower, dips and leg raise unit, leg press and sit-up bench, plus space for warming up and cooling down.

All of the new gym equipment features QR codes that will allow users to see instructional videos when scanned using smartphones.

The project also introduced a new link path created near to the existing play facilities together with the gym equipment installed within.
