Parents invited to join new buggy walks at Highbridge’s Apex Park

-

The course starts at 9.30am on Wednesday 19th April and runs every Wednesday for six weeks.

Sedgemoor District Council, which owns Apex Park, has teamed up with 1610 Leisure to launch the course for residents and visitors, instructing them on how to use the park gym equipment as well as keep fit in the fresh air.

“1610 is launching this new health initiative where parents with pre-school children can get active in the outdoors with a health or Buggy Walk with the children, followed by a circuit-based exercise session using the gym equipment in the park,” 1610’s Gail Livingstone told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The six-week courses will be run by a 1610 gym instructor with improvements in fitness and weight goals for parents also being monitored. The sessions will end with a chat and catch-up in a local coffee shop or even a picnic, depending on the weather, so exercise is combined with the opportunity to make new friends without the need to make childcare arrangements.”

For more information about the Buggy Walks contact King Alfreds Sports Centre to book on 01278 786868.

1610 is a non-profit making leisure trust which manages 19 leisure centres based on school sites across Somerset, Devon and Dorset. It aims to help people live fuller, richer lives through having an active body and an active mind.
