author Dave Eldergill unveils unique walking book
Burnham-On-Sea author has published his first book which gives his
unique perspective on a 700-mile walk along the South West Coast
Long Walk Home' is the first published book by local artist, songwriter,
and author Dave Eldergill.
From a wind-swept and cold Studland beach in February to 30 degree
Devon sunshine in July, Dave's journey around the South West Coast
Path back to his home in Burnham is an artist's experience of walking
decided to embark on the trek, a few days at a time, back to his
front door in Burnham and then three years and 700 miles later,
he set about writing up his experiences, thoughts, inspirations
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "I didn't want to write another travel
book just describing the beauty of the South West coast, there are
already plenty of books available that do that very well."
'A Long Walk Home' describes something of my inner journey as an
artist, and weaves together an artist's musings about ongoing art
works, childhood memories, song lyrics, and reflections on life,
love and the passing of time."
South West Coast Path is England's longest waymarked long-distance
footpath and a National Trail.
stretches from Minehead in Somerset, along the coasts of Devon and
Cornwall, to Poole Harbour in Dorset.
