Burnham-On-Sea beach clean to be held in National Marine Week

Somerset Wildlife Trust is to hold a beach clean in Burnham-On-Sea to mark National Marine Week today.

Volunteers are being sought for the event on Friday 11th August from 2-4pm, which is being organised jointly with the Friends of Burnham Beach and Litter Free Somerset.

“Help to protect the coast and our amazing marine wildlife by removing litter.” said a spokesperson.

“Equipment will be provided, but please wear sturdy footwear and bring weather appropriate gear. Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.”

The event wll start at Burnham-On-Sea Sailing Club on the South Esplanade.

Each year the UK’s Wildlife Trusts celebrate the UK’s amazing sea animals and plants during National Marine Week.

It’s a chance to explore the seashore, discover dunes and wallow with whelks around the country. See more details here.
