A new shop that lets children design their own teddy bears opened on Saturday (March 10th) in Burnham-On-Sea town centre.
‘Design A Ted’ has opened in a vacant premises at 44 The High Street, near the junction with Cross Street.
Owner Wayne Nation told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We have brought a fun, new business to Burnham, offering something that attracts holidaymakers and residents.”
He explained that the business encourages children to design and create their own bear in the shop, then decorate it in their own individual style.
The interior of the premises has been fully refurbished ahead of the shop’s grand opening on Saturday.
He added: “We had a busy opening day with lots of interest in what we’re doing, which is very different to anything else in Burnham.”
Burnham-On-Sea Chamber of Trade welcomed the new business, with a spokesman saying: “It’s great to see a new business opening here in the heart of the town centre, further expanding the wide variety of independent shops and businesses we have in Burnham. We wish Wayne well with his new venture.”
